This project demonstrates Caravan’s capability to operate time-critical logistics in the medical sector. A healthcare institution in Damascus placed an urgent request for breathing devices, monitoring tools, and rapid-response medical kits – all required within a strict window of no more than 72 hours.
Caravan initiated the process by coordinating with the European supplier to issue all required medical compliance documentation, including certificates of origin, medical-use approval, and technical conformity validation. Parallel to that, Caravan ran legal feasibility checks to ensure permitted entry of such devices into Syria.
A dedicated 24-hour task team executed the operation based on five synchronized pillars:
-
Securing immediate air freight routing and booking
-
Issuing an Air Waybill (AWB)
-
Obtaining medical and customs clearances prior to the aircraft’s arrival
-
Preparing ground delivery to begin the moment the plane lands
-
Ensuring equipment safety through controlled-handling vehicles
The shipment reached Damascus International Airport within less than 48 hours from departure, and because customs clearance was pre-processed, release and handover happened immediately. The cargo was delivered directly to the healthcare institution, with a signed receipt and condition report confirming intact equipment.
Caravan later provided a final executive report summarizing: timelines, compliance stages, risk mitigation actions, and recommendations for future recurring imports.
